PPA Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Support

Post by HappyMaskedMan »

Hey all, Canonical just launched the latest LTS version of Ubuntu, but this useful PPA: https://launchpad.net/~heyarje/+archive ... eta/+index

Code: Select all

ppa:heyarje/makemkv-beta
doesn't yet support it. Will it be supported soon? I'd rather not have to use a Flatpak, Snap, or have to manually build & update. Thank you.

With a little patience, I think it will be available soon. You can also use Snap as a temporary workaround.

Totally agree.

Also I hope it offers arm64 builds in the future.

Same here! The snap version complains that it can't get full access to the DVD/BluRay drives. I already have to use the mozilla version of FireFox, because of sandboxing issues.

Not an ARM user but that would be great.

Hello
There are fixes for the permission problems of the Firefox snap involving ... flatpack tools. Google it. (I've used them but can't remember what and where)...
All in all, these snaps are a bad fix for a problem and do not solve the security issue they were supposed to solve.... But "it's the future".....
