Without more information, even wild-ass guesses are hard to come by.

What does the system log say about the failure?

if i remember correctly, MakeMKV is now 64bit only, try updating your OS, as you are way behind!

Besides the 32- vs. 64-bit issue? I'm certainly not a MacOS expert, but 32-bit versions won't run 64-bit software, and MakeMKV is 64-bit only now.

(of course, some people will argue endlessly about how their favorite software package was broken when they update to whatever the next version of the operating system is, making the new one "behinder" than the old one.)

If they're truly on 10.12.6 then it would not be the OS because I'm on 10.12.6 also.
For my purposes it runs like a champ!

If I was having this issue, I would uninstall the app, reboot and then reinstall.

I use App Cleaner to uninstall unwanted or troublesome apps.

Also, did you download your copy of MakeMKV from this site?
