Can Repeatedly Generate FATAL ERROR

HD DVD Superman Returns... can repeatedly generate a app crash, "Fatal Error."

I can understand a typical Warner Brothers Bitrotted disc - and would love a feature to read all the good sectors from multiple different copies of the same disc, and I digress - but it seems like the disc rot should not be able to cause the app to actually crash, yes?

Trying a different brand drive now (Toshiba).

Yes this is likely a bad disc. I just opened it brand new, broke the top stripe seal, but it's Warner Brothers HD DVD so likely bad mfr'ing.

But still... shouldn't be crashing the app right?

And for serious errors like this if would be great to have a preference option to swap the disc with another copy of the same title, mid-rip.

So far...

Assuming you have debug logging enabled, send the information requested in the FAQ link in my signature to support@makemkv.com. Also include the text from any system event log entries for the crash.

You're right, a bad sector shouldn't make it crash, but only Mike can deal with that, and he'll need the above information to start with.

I do regularly see crashes on macOS like you describe, which happens when MakeMKV can't read the disc properly, so you are not alone. Maybe I should start getting my USB stick out of my arse, and start sending in logs.. :P
