MKV files from Blue ray

I am attempting to rip a blue ray into seperate video files. I have done this more that once. I finally figued out how to purchase the software. But now I am stumped. I have done what I did in the past which is create a file on the desktop to place all the files MKV takes from the origial lblue ray. In that folder as the process is running I do not see any video files. I recently did this same task with another blue ray. And MKV files were crreated. I have done something incorrectly I am not sure what tho. Thanks for the help
