Blu-ray Captain America will not mount

Post by kfreeb »

My Blu-ray of Captain America will not mount. It cycles in the drive for about 2 minutes and then reports to Make MKV that there is no disk in the drive. Disk never mounts on desktop. This is the first Blu-ray disk that has failed to mount.

[Disk will mount in regular set top player, (Samsung) connected to flat panel TV.]

Here's my configuration:
Mac Pro 3GHZ
Blu-ray drive, connected via firewire through a Wiebetech Ultradock v4 bridge.
Drive Model: LG WH10LS30, (ROM ver. 1) Manufactured May 2010

Has anyone with the same drive, been able to mount this disk?

Any insight would be helpful.

Have you tried launching MakeMKV first, and then inserting the disc in the drive?

Yes, still the disk will not mount. Not sure what is happing here. It's the only BD disk that will not mount, out of the many that I own.

If your computer can't even see the disc there isn't much chance of anything opening it. Sounds like a defective disc, swap it for a new one disc.

I just had the disk resurfaced, cleaned up any blemishes in the surface and now the disk mounts just fine. I'm ripping it right now and looks like it will finish with no problems.

Thanks for all who responded, it's appreciated.
