Distorted or no audio on ripped movies

Post by baward »

Hello,

While the video tracks are fine, the audio track for several of my MakeMKV rips is grossly pitched-shifted down by about three octaves and distorted.

This is from a Bluray that I created and finalised with a Panasonic DMR-BWT850 recorder. 4 movies from this disc actually ripped fine, but 4 more had these problems. I have ripped movies successfully many times before with no issues, so it's puzzling why this is happening now.

Many thanks!

The most likely suspect is an audio codec that your system does not support. Are you having the issues playing through a TV, a player like VLC, or ???

Thanks. I have tested the disc with two different Bluray players, and there are no errors. The problems are only with the computer; Blu-Ray Pro by Macgo plays back half the movies correctly, but with either missing or very out of sync audio. VLC has the most problems, as I outlined before. Bizarrely, playing back one of the movies in VLC leads to it acquiring the soundtrack from another movie!
