Mkv differences

Post by Pauleko »

First of all, sorry, I don't know much about this ripping stuff

I use MakeMKV to convert iso and/or BDMV folders to .mkv to watch them on TV. Have done quite a few rips, and most of the time it worked flawlessly. But now I found 1 movie and I can't understand whats wrong. I know it's probably TV's fault but I want to know why some mkv's work and some don't. TV - Panasonic TX-42ASE650

ALSO the original m2ts file plays fine, but it has dtshd audio, and my hometheater cant take it. It has to be extracted core, so makemkv does exactly what i want and works fine when the file plays

This works

Is it possible to change any settings or do anything for the file to work? I know I can use tsmuxer to demux audio and then try muxing it back again, but it takes way too much time, compared to makemkv

Try importing the file you have a problem with and the one that you don't into MP4Tools. See if they are encoded using a different codec. This information should be available on the main window next to the video track title.

Why are you using such an old version of MakeMKV?

Without seeing the logs from the rip, it is hard to tell what MIGHT be happening.
