new problem - ripping interactive dvd

alrighty folks, i've got another conundrum. I have an interactive DVD that I'm trying to rip. Depending on the DVD, I usually can just copy the contents of the DVD over to a folder, and that's how they work.

however, with this DVD, it is more like a movie with menus. There is a main menu, and three selections for videos.

BUT, I cannot load this stupid DVD for the life of me in anything on the computer. Opening VLC and trying to play the actual DVD from within VLC doesn't work- it's just stuck on loading the DVD, so the scrubber bar is just moving yellow.

Opening within MakeMKV yields a bunch of text like this:
Title #69 has length of 53 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #70 has length of 101 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #71 was added (8 cell(s), 0:13:46)
Title #72 was added (4 cell(s), 0:05:03)
Title #73 was added (5 cell(s), 0:08:19)
Title #74 was added (4 cell(s), 0:02:51)
Title #75 was added (6 cell(s), 0:04:29)
Title #76 was added (3 cell(s), 0:05:56)
Title #77 has length of 35 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped

and I've left the DVD loading within MakeMKV for over an hour, all I hear is the loading of the disc in the DVD player, a repeated vrr vrr sound. Same thing with handbrake, opening the DVD as source will load 1 out of 78 titles that just takes forever, and it never completed 78.

the strange thing is, even though I can't open it or anything on the computer, the DVD will play just fine in a DVD player, loading the menu and playing any title I select.

there is also no damage or marks on the DVD, it appears very clean. what could the issue be?

bump - when opening the DVD in any form with VLC, Handbrake, etc, the whole Windows OS sometimes freezes up! What could be causing this issue?
