broken MOD DVD

So I have a Manufacturered on Demand DVD that is broken, it crashes many of the pieces of software when I try to use it as a DVD. thankfully, makemkv is not one of them and I'm able to make MKVs of all the episodes without a problem. Similarly, mpc-hc seems to be able to play it as a DVD just fine (menu and all). It doesn't seem to be CSS encrypted (as most MOD DVDs are not)

Any thought if there's a way for me to use makemkv to recover the state so I can make a DVD image backup? I've made a disc image of the disk as much as I can, but when I try to mount it, it has a corrupted file system. Wondering what makemkv is doing to avoid that issue?

MakeMKV cannot do what you're asking for. However, there are other tools, especially if you have access to Linux.

The simplest is the "dd" program on Linux, so long as there aren't any actual unreadable spots on the disk.

"make dvd iso" plus your operating system will local tools for your machine. With Win10, you can install one of the Linux virtual machines and do it.

using linux. made the disk image with ddrescue (about 19MB chunk near the start is not readable), for whatever reason when mounting it has a corrupted file system, where makemkv and mpc-hc aren't impacted by this, but vlc crashes because of it. tried mounting as both udf and iso9660
