Is WinX DVD Ripper a good alternative?

Post by chilibutt »

I used Makemkv on my Win 10 to convert my DVDs to watch on iPad or phone etc and take on holiday. But it won't work with copy protected DVDs. Any pointers on what i am doing wrong? All the articles I can find suggest that it should work, but it wont. Is WinX a good one? Heard a lot of folks recommending it. Any suggestions would be a great help.

Since the PURPOSE of MakeMKV is to deal with copy-protected disks (not just DVDs), and I've used it for that in the past week or so, it would seem you have an issue with the actual read-the-disk part, which could be drive- or disk-related. In which chase, changing software isn't going to help the situation.

Now, since MakeMKV doesn't create MP4 files (apple products don't like MKV), you might already be using an alternative program.

Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, notice that Apple not a fan of makemkv. Now I start to use WinX DVD Ripper to handle that. But I still keep makemkv as an alternative.
