Inception

Post by Fortissimo » Fri Oct 12, 2018 4:40 am

I can't get Inception (Blu-Ray) to rip. After a little more than 30 seconds I get a "0 titles saved, 1 failed" error message.

I've tried this copy twice in my LG internal drive, and twice more in my Lite-On drive that is in an external enclosure (AC powered, not USB powered). Same error every time, and the error occurs only about 35 seconds into ripping. I have ripped other titles successfully with both drives both before and after this rip.

I have a seemingly immaculate copy of Inception (no scratches anywhere, not even any fingerprints or dust).

Error log to follow. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I'm also curious why the time stamps in this log file are off. It should have read 23:59:56 (beginning) to 00:02:13 (end), but instead it reads 03:59:56 (beginning) to 04:02:13 (end). My computer's clock is correct, but these time stamps seem to be off by 4 hours.

Make a test with version 1.12.2, because the 1.12.3 has some bugs.

Thanks. That fixed the problem. :D It now rips just fine. I was also having an issue with Pitch Black (another BluRay in immaculate condition) - it would fail only 35 seconds into the ripping, practically before it even began.

MakeMKV already notifies the user that a new version is available. I think it would be really useful if the new version notification text would also provide a link to known bugs for the currently installed version. Really bad bugs (like this one!) could even be displayed in the MakeMKV status window every time the software starts up, such as "This version is known to have problems ripping many BluRay titles" or something. Seems to me this one small change would ultimately save the software coder (and forum users) magnitudes more time and effort than it would be to set it up.

I had this same problem with Solo. I knew it was the software not the drive like everybody kept telling me.

Same issue here. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I have an immaculate copy and it fails every time.

I was having the same issue.

I had to 'backup' the whole disc then use a seriously convoluted (but successful) method of getting the end result.

I use Linux so my instructions are for that...

...any use to you?
