Moonlight Correct Playlist

Does anyone know the correct playlist?

Seems more and more releases are having this issue, and MakeMKV is no help in specifying the correct playlist like AnyDVD. Hopefully a future version will simply hide incorrect playlists.

It's not an "issue", it's called "copy protection", specifically "playlist obfuscation", and was designed for this exact reason

I'm aware of what it is and its purpose. My issue is that MakeMKV doesn't specify the correct playlist like AnyDVD does.

If you have Java installed, MakeMKV will try to find the correct play list. If not, it won't, since Java is required for that feature.

If you install the required plug-ins, it works just fine. Don't be lazy. Read the instructions.

Thanks to you guys who post the playlist info (specifically the segment order).

I'll admit that I'd love to figure out how to determine the correct play list, but all of the procedures that I've followed do not end up with the result that the authors claim should be.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong and not realizing it. Would just be nice to figure it out and feel somewhat self-reliant in this pursuit. :)

Not being lazy...I've never heard of the plugin (but I'm not on this forum every day either).
What is the plugin called? I gather that it requires Java, but is the plugin put out by the makers of MakeMKV? Where do you download the plugin?

Thanks in advance,
Bret

Java is provided by Oracle, and you download it from java.com . You need the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). It's free.

Just make sure you do NOT allow JRE to install any integration with your web browsers. While Java is a valuable tool for some things, it is also subject to the "exploit of the week" if it has access to internet. Homeland Security has stopped warning people to remove it if they aren't using it, but it still has issues to this day.

Make sure you have 64-bit Java installed. If you do, MakeMKV will tell you that 865.mpls is the FPL_Main Feature for the redbox version.
I'm not sure if that is correct or not, but it is at least trying to determine.

Moonlight Netflix version FPL_MainFeature is wrong

Hi all,

I want to let the community know, the "FPL_MainFeature" recommended playlist for the Moonlight Netflix version (640.mpls) is wrong.

I don't know what the correct mpls is (I'm not set up to do the necessary investigating to figure it out), but I sat down to watch 640.mpls and there were a bunch of scenes out of order.

(The segment map for 640.mpls, which is wrong, is 518,501,519,507,503,514,506,516,508,515,520,513,504,509,502,512,510,511,505,517.)

Also, I just found that the Netflix version 865.mpls has the same segment map as the retail version 865.mpls that others have posted above, so it's possible that that is the correct list on the Netflix version as well.

Not certain, but possible.

If you're not getting the correct playlist for a disk, Mike said to see: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14330

FYI... PowerDVD and Process Monitor give me 00835.mpls while MakeMKV shows 00865.mpls as the main feature.
