Solo A Star Wars Story Blu-Ray issue

Post by editboy23 »

I've tried all the titles and get the same errors for each one:

Error 'OS error - A device which does not exist was specified' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom1' at offset '193198080'
Error 'OS error - The volume for a file has been externally altered such that the opened file is no longer valid' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom1' at offset '193198080'
Error 'OS error - This device does not exist' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00810.m2ts' at offset '193198080'

I have the latest version of MakeMKV
I'm on a PC

Anybody else having issues?

Your drive has gone off-line as far as Windows knows. You may have to reset the computer for Windows to find the drive again.

MakeMKV can't talk to the drive if Windows doesn't think it is there.

Well I just successfully ripped it with DVDFab Blu-Ray Ripper with the exact same setup. So it's not the disk and it's not the drive. It must be MakeMKV.

Windows says the hardware has gone away, and it's MakeMKV's fault?

OK, that's an interesting twist.

Oh, back to one of your original questions, others have ripped this title without issue, other than figuring out which of the three play lists was the correct one for English. In those cases, there were no reports of drives going "off line" during the rip.

It's definitely weird, I've never had this issue before.
I tried all the titles with the same result.
I'm just telling you what happened, process of elimination says it's the software.
I may try another title with it to see if it's just that particular title or the setup.

Is this a redbox disc? What playlist are you trying to rip?

It was a Redbox Blu-Ray. I can't remember the specific title I chose but it was the English version of the main title.
I tried all of them as a test with the same result.
