AACS12 & 14 Encryption

Hi,

I've submitted this through the application, but for completeness:

Just tried to rip "Rock n Rolla" - MakeMkv reported that this was not possible due to AACSv12 encryption. The first disc ever to fail for me in MakeMKV! Only to then be followed by another failure, "Little New York", which has AACSv14 encryption... Just not my day! And then "Street Kings" (AACSv9, BD+) failed too... REALLY not my day!!

I'm running v1.5.8 under Linux (Ubuntu 10.4) and used the latest SVQ on the last disk & will submit the dump

Any chance I'm doing anything wrong? Overlooked something? Months of no failures (except a damaged disk) and then 3 all at once seems a little odd

thanks

Hi!

None of those should present any problem, as MakeMKV can handle any and all MKBs up to and including 18.

Sounds like a drive problem - Or are you running another program in the background, such as AnyDVDHD or DVDFab Passkey, while processing?

Last but not least, what is your source material (Original BluRay disc, or soemthing else)?

Same drive as always, same computer (Linux). No other services running at all. Original discs in the drive ripping to the local disc.

As mentioned - never had a problem with any disc before though Street Kings was the first BD+ disc I've ever tried to copy

1) Now that the other possibilities have been eliminated, I would once again suggest that your drive may be faltering.

2) By all means, submit the debug log.

3) I'd suggest that,m as an experiment, you try to use MakeMKV to process a BluRay disc that you've previously successfully processed with it.

Interesting...

I plugged the drive into my iMac (OSX 10.6.4), installed makemkv and am currently ripping Rock n Rolla. So - why would my Linux box suddenly start telling me the encryption was unknown, when with th esame drive and software I can rip the disc under OSX. The Linux box has never failed before. And I have not been installing any applications on it recently.

I will try again, but suggestion as to what I might look for are welcome

How did you change the drive? Is it an external USB drive and you reconnected it or did you remove it from enclosure?

It's an external USB drive, so simple plugin to my mac. This one here: http://store.fastmac.com/product_info.p ... cts_id=406
