Enter The Void failure

Post by tucansam »

I can't get this one to go. Unless I uncheck *all* of the audio tracks. It starts, runs for 15-30 seconds, and then fails. Windows 7.

1st off, there's an update... you should install it:

The new version 1.14.3 is available for download at http://www.makemkv.com/download/

Next, MakeMKV is having an issue connecting to the 'mother ship':

Downloading latest SDF to C:\Users\bob/.MakeMKV ...
Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed.

Check that Preferences > General > 'Allow contacting web server for updates' is checked.

Restart MakeMKV & try the disc again.

There was also a recent program change regarding profiles:

Saving 1 titles into directory D:/Video/Enter The Void (2009) using profile 'AAC-stereo' from file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV/appdata.tar:aac-st.mmcp.xml'

This MIGHT be resolved with the update and/or an updated SDF?

I am blocking with pihole and my firewall.

Makemkv is trying to reach a host in Russia.

Safe?

Not surprised, but I allow it & nothing nefarious has ever raised a fuss in all the time I've used MakeMKV.

I say "go for it".

This is how MakeMKV receives updates between version releases... UHD hash keys, LibreDrive updates, etc..

91.224.23.225

This is the host that Makemkv was trying to reach. I have allowed it, and updated my software. SDF download is successful.

Video still will not rip, however.

Or, might not. Are you using a modified AAC profile?

My guess is the 'AAC-stereo' profile is the issue & selecting 'default' will allow the rip. Try it for the sake of debug.

You've posted the debug output, but it'd probably be more expedient to shoot a log to support@makemkv.com .
