Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concerts - 25th Anniversary

Post by pennhaven »

I am getting no video via VLC when playing mkvs made from this new Blu-ray release (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concerts - The 25th Anniversary).

All of the same mkvs play video fine with my WDTV Live thru HDMI. Audio plays fine with both players.

The video codec from the Blu-ray is Windows Media VC1 (WVC1).

I am using a fresh download of the latest version of VLC 1.1.4 (x86) running under Windows 7 Home Premium x64. All I get on the VLC player screen is the VLC traffic cone logo. VLC statistics show 0 frames, 0 blocks decoded. All options under the Video menu are grayed out except VideoTrack which shows Track 1 (the only option) selected.

Thoughts / suggestions please?

In the past, VLC has had all sorts of trouble with .VC1 video.

The only version I've had success with regarding .VC1s is v.1.1.0

Thanks, I'm a noob at this stuff. Probably should have taken my question to a VLC forum first, but thought it would be worthwhile bringing up here, since other MakeMKV users will eventually rip this Blu-ray too and would benefit from any feedback.

No luck. 1.1.0 doesn't work any better than 1.1.4. Same result.
