I am not sure whether my original post http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic ... 8269#p8269 was in the right forum. Hence adding the problem here as well.

The problem: I created a bluray image file (.img) of the clips I shot in my HD Camcorder by exporting it from FCP (actually choosing "Share as" option and clicking on hard drive for blu-ray image).

Steps followed for creating MKV.

1. Run MakeMKV.
2. Click on the Source
3. It allows me to select either /BDMV/index.bdmv or /BDMV/MovieOBject.bdmv. No other files are selectable as the "Source File". Irrespective of which file I chose, I always get this message:

Is it legitimate to include "!" or "-" in either file or directory names?

I removed ! and -. Still ending up with same error!

It means that whatever software created this blu-ray image did it wrong. What software did you use to create such disc? Can you create a disc with a single 3-5 seconds clip?

Thanks Mike for the response. I used Final Cut Pro.

The original clip was shot in 1920x1080p 30fps H264 mode. I have created a small file - 9 sec long. I have uploaded the entire img file.

Normally, I choose the MovieObject.bdmv after mounting the img file (in Mac OS). MakeMKV scans and reports the number of tiles correctly. When I click on MakeMKV icon, it finally ends with the failed message. I am trying to have a MKV file with chapter control so that I can play it on my WDTV.
