Ripping subtitles?

Ripping subtitles?

Hi,is it possible to rip the subtitles from a bluray and dvd disc with makemkv?
I`m a noob but they are in SRT format right?

DVDs use VOBSUB subtitles, BDs use PGS subtitles. Both are graphic formats, not text like SRT or SSA.

Unless you tell it not to, MakeMKV normally extracts subtitle tracks with the video and audio.

If you use MakeMKV to back up your bluray disc to a FOLDER, you can extract the subtitle files (in .sup format) via eac3to (command line) or you could use a GUI application such as "HD-DVD/BD Streams Extractor" or maybe even tsMuxerGUI?

Also, if you only want the "forced" subs, you can use my SUPfoe application to extract them from the .sup subtitle files. Get it from here:
