Player Folder copy on BluRay player

Hello,
Until this day, I was used to rip my own BluRay discs to one or several MKV files (movie, bonus...) but I decided to use "Folder'" function today. From what I understand, I will get an exact BD copy with some folders, BD protections ect.
I would like to play this copy on my BluRay player (let's say I add folder obtained to a device connected to that BluRay player via an USB port). Will that work ? I am not sure whether I could play (and how) the copy in the exact same way than just reading the physical BluRay on the BluRay player.
