There is no reason to rip to ISO before using MakeMKV. Not to mention the fact that dd doesn't give you a true ISO from a video disk, due to the copy protection.

What happens when you run MakeMKV against the disk itself?

And version 1.8.3 just came out, so you can install that and update the key through the end of June (at least).
