Can you force P-led on X700+LG through Vertex thing?
If so you shouldn't rely on my pictures at all and can see difference by your own eyes
of course, if I could force lldv and see with my own eyes I would have posted a comparison a long time ago.
there's the LLDV Sony EDID option in my first gen Vertex but unfortunately, I'm not able to make it work. All I get is tv-led.

But i do not know why
tsMuxeR desynchronizes the audio with the video. = (
TsMuxer does not desynchronize the audio/video. I merged the Lord of The Rings movies in a single file. I watched all of them without any sync issue.
Tsmuxer is actually my favorite tool to mux seamless branching movie because it properly removes overlapping frames.
Can you explain how you did it?

I have Disc 1 and Disc 2 in m2ts with Dolby Vision when I combine them with tsMuxeR, when Disc 2 (which is connected to Disc 1 + Disc 2) starts up the video audio is out of sync.

I open the "add" rings of tsMuxeR.
Then I click "join", add rings2, select M2TS, and start muxing.

As a result, when the second disc should start, the video gets out of sync with the audio.

Please help.

I always use the .mpls file(playlist folder) instead of the m2ts file so that might be the reason why.
Also, make sure that you use the latest nightly tsMuxer and not the old tsmuxer

So after my latest reply, I decided to give another go to my Vertex. and btw I'm not relying on your picture at all.. I'm just saying that your comparisons with vincent's video means nothing and that you shouldn't rely on it
The firmware was a bit old so I updated it and now forcing lldv works.

I used content(p5 full range DV) that the Shield can actually play properly (not a uhd-bd rip so no red push affecting the output). On my LG C8, I don't really see any difference between the X700 p-led and the Shield p-led.

Been away from this thread for a few weeks so trying to catch up.

I understand that the latest MakeMKV (1.15.4) can now remux a MEL DV UHD Bluray.

For FEL a MEL needs to be created. Is the post below still the preferred method or has it been updated? Thanks

Can u do a Soul comparison with the real dv rgb dv-8bit? just for fun.
From both playback devices.
Curious too see on your calibrated c8 to see
If differences of dual tone mapping can be observed LLDV vs rgb 8 like Vincent showed.

Updated program tsMuxeR 2020-12-29 Nightly (x64)
I have done it again as you indicated. I took the .mpls from disk 1 and disk 2 and created a m2ts.
Again there is desynchronization
of the audio with the video just when disc two would enter, as I mentioned.

Don't join the movies together. Keep them separate.
Cheers :D

I dont know. The 3 movies are perfectly in sync on my end. both the x700 and on my pc. what media player do you use ?
I did the extended version if that make a difference. Also, i did it a couple weeks ago, so not really the latest tsmuxer version.. Maybe a bug introduced in the latest version?

The firmware was a bit old so I updated it and now forcing lldv works.

I used content(p5 full range DV) that the Shield can actually play properly (not a uhd-bd rip so no red push affecting the output). On my LG C8, I don't really see any difference between the X700 p-led and the Shield p-led.

screenshot comparison: https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/9541
you need to use p7 with FEL in order to see differences - because the "problem" occurs when the EL is merged with the BL, and in LLDV this is done by the player/source and it won't be as accurate as tv-led

p5 does not have EL

Ok,
but the Shield is not capable of displaying p7 properly (or any other format than p5), so that comparison between the Shield and the x700 cannot be done (well it wouldn't mean anything).
Also, are you saying that MEL would look identical in player-led and tv-led ?

U would have to do x700 fel LLDV vs x700 fel rgb dv8 to see if that’s true.

Regarding LLDV and Blu-Ray players
It seems all of them had identical Dolby SDK and provide same results

p7 FEL and p8 version show same artefacts and muted colors on LLDV X700+XF90
So FEL is not a cause. Could be metadata processing

Meanwhile Shield LLDV demonstrates noticable better picture - less artefacts, brighter colors.
Newer Dolby SDK?

Pictures https://slow.pics/c/SHnEtyql
Things to looks at - noise on the sky, muted colors of red flower and yellow beak

Also, if Dolby processing rely on closed SDK, which can be a black box for device manufacturer, it seems there is very little hope the "red push" will be ever fixed on Shield TV.

Also, I found the following quotes on the nVidia forums:
The Shield supports both and will do TV-led if your TV supports it...
It does TV-led for me and I still get the slight red push.
Hi I didn’t think the Shield was doing TV-led with my C9 but it actually is, shame they can’t nail this on shield...
Therefore, assuming my LG B7 is capable of TV-led DV and the Shield can detect this and send the DV for the TV to process, is TV-led DV the result when using a Plex client that plays DV on the Shield? I'm currently switching between the native Plex client and the Kodi plex client on my Shield and want to make sure I'm aware of any differences here when playing DV mkv's.
Yes, it should be using TV-led DV on your B7
Thank you. For testing purposes, can one force a switch between TV-led and Player-led DV on the Shield?
