Non-standard MKV file

Post by west67 »

I have purchased MakeMKV, and I'm running version 1.6.14 x64 under Windows 7.

I have successfully converted a blu-ray disk to a 20GB MKV file. It plays in VLC media player, but gives an error message at the end "No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format 'undf'. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this." The file will not play at all on my Samsung BD-C5500 blu-ray player, which plays other MKV files. Also, the MKV file will not load in Aone Ultra Video Splitter or Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate (both of which load other MKV files). I attach the MediaInfo analysis of the file.

Can this problem be fixed? Thank you.

Search "undf" on this forum. You'll find a few topics:

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. The link says, "This is the way MakeMKV stores multi-channel LPCM audio. For now, your only option is to demux the track with eac3to and then recompress with FLAC by hand. In future versions you'll be able to do that in MakeMKV."

Is there any indication as to when MakeMKV will be able to do it?
