Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - audio not sync'ed

Post by OneFastSkater »

There is a noticeable, consistent delay, from start to finish, in the audio track. Any suggestions?

Hi!

I presume you're referring to the ORIGINAL (dubbed) version and NOT the remake that has just started appearing in theaters.

IIRC, the initial several (I seem to remember 13 seconds) seconds of video are silent, prior to a goofy little bird appearing onscreen. Feel free to cut off those opening silent seconds...

I just bought the BluRay ... so not sure.

The goofy bird is in the opening.

The audio is off, slightly delayed, throughout the movie.

Then try what I suggested (I presume you are referring to a movie-only MKV that you made and not a full disc Blu-ray backup)

Please go to preferences, enable "log debug messages" and "show AV sync messages", and try to redo the MKV. Please post the resulting messages here.

Any reason you haven't tried what I suggested?

I tried doing a backup and no difference. It's interesting to note that audio is synch'ed perfectly when the bird steps on a cigarette butt in the lead in. I'm going to try playing back the BluRay disk on my PS3.

The only video editing software I have a copy of is iMovie and it failed to open an MKV. Do you have any suggestions on a video tool that would enable me to cut off the first 13 seconds?

Or even mkvmerge GUI, which could split the MKV into two files: one with the first few seconds, and a second file ith the rest of the source.
