Fatal Error on Disney Diamond Edition Blu Ray

Post by boogy886 » Mon Mar 23, 2015 10:16 pm

It looks like an old issue, that I have found some old threads on, but according to those threads the issues were always resolved with a new release.

It takes several minutes to load the disc, and I never get to the title selection window. I get a "fatal error. MakeMKV will now close." This has happened on the Diamond Edition of The Little Mermaid and 101 Dalmatians. Both are retail versions purchased via Amazon or Target.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Do you have debug logging turned on, and does the log contain any error messages? See link in signature for how to turn it on, if you haven't already.

Sure thing. I have the debug logging turned on, here are the logs. There doesn't appear to be an error there, it crashes after it finds all of the titles. (Unless the CSF6 and CSF9 are some sort of error codes.)

The two codes at the end of the log probably ARE what will point Mike to the reason, but we will have to wait for him to read this.

Emailing a copy of the log to support@makemkv.com can sometimes make that happen sooner, if you refer to this thread in the email.

Email was sent on Tuesday. Have not heard back. I have also not received any confirmation that my email was received, is this normal? I am by no means saying that my problem is the most important problem, and it needs to be attended to now, just want to make sure my information was received.

Yes, no acknowledgement is normal. I cheat - it I want to know when Mike gets the email, I send him a link to the file, rather than emailing it, so I can see when he retrieved it. :)

The last file set I sent to him, I got a response about 4 days later with how to work around the navigation error on the disk.

Still no response on this. Still within the realm of normal length of no response? Is it possible my error logs weren't received? Or is it just low on the totem pole?
Thanks!

Have you tested the BD with v1.9.4 yet? It is possible he fixed the problem, and just didn't acknowledge it....

My experience has been similar to Woodstock's in that you get no response to your email, but you often see a fix down the road on a new version. Thus, for this site, I have adopted the maxim, "All things in due time." Really, if you think about it, for one guy to have to cover all these issues, many resulting from the alteration of the copy-protection schemes he must encounter is extraordinary. OK, I know like I sound like an ### kisser, but lord knows I don't have what it takes to continually perfect something this complex. My propeller just doesn't spin that fast.

So yeah, "All things in due time." But it is nice that you took the time to elucidate the problem and send in your results as specified!

I completely agree, Mike is doing one hell of a job with this product. I was able to rip The Little Mermaid last night without issue, I'll try 101 Dalmatians tonight.

Thanks everyone!
