This drive should work if you downgrade it to 1.02.
Cheers :D

Do you have any recommendations on a external UHD and libredrive capable drive?

Yep, an internal drive in a USB external enclosure. Take your pick of drive. BU40N, WH16NS60, ASUS BW-16D1HT, WH16NS40, BH16NS55

Best, what Marty said. There are some portable UHD-capable drives, but not many of them are compatible out of the box. The "full size" internal drives are usually much faster and less fragile than most "USB" drives, and the enclosures are not expensive.

I have a LiteOn EB1 drive that is an "official UHD" slim-type USB drive, and it is NOT currently supported by LibreDrive. It would probably work fine with all that official UHD software that will refuse to run on my machines because they aren't "powerful enough to deal with UHD video" (i.e., they won't enforce the copy protection).

That's great, if I bought this one now, would it work out of the box or would I need to mess about with the firmware?
Thanks

I'm happy with my BU50N. I'm using it as an external drive just by running SATA power and data to it externally. It works with UHD titles out of the box (Firmware BW50). Currently it is supported via LibreDrive for everything but unrestricted read speed.

How old is your drive? Does it say SVC NS50 on the label?

Is it a newer model or an older model? What firmware version? If it is a newer drive with 3.03 it will need downgrading to 3.02.
