I'm considering the "ASUS BW-16D1H-U Pro Extreme 16X USB 3.0 Blu-Ray Writer" https://www.mwave.com.au/product/asus-b ... er-ab84784 for UHD ripping. Does anyone have any experience flashing it? It seems to be a close cousin to the recommended ASUS BW-16D1HT. Do I need any special connections to do firmware updates or is the USB connection fine? Thanks in anticipation.
For the 1000th time that drive does not work with uhd

That’s not how this works. If you are unsure what Libredrive is and how it works, then it’s time you take time to educate yourself on it.

Start here:

There are plenty of discussions there regarding this including detailed explanations directly from the MakeMKV developer himself. You have to do some reading/research on your end.

No offence, but are you on here for any purpose other than to be offensive to anyone who posts?

I mean, this is a HELP forum, and yet 'help' seems to be pretty much bottom of your list of priorities. Top seems to be trying to show everyone how you're the loudest cockerel in the henhouse.

What you're seeing is frustration over people asking the same question over and over and over and over again, thinking their particular variation of the question is completely different from the 47 other variations. Or, the person asking doesn't feel obliged to do a simple search to find out that there are 50 responses to their question, some on the front page of the forum.

This particular topic is redundant, for example, because this one is maintained by people who know the answers to "which is the best for UHD?" because someone wasn't looking for UHD capability; It's mostly the same answers, since the UHD-friendly drives can do non-UHD as well. The older topic keeps current information at the start of the topic, so you don't have to dig through to the end.
