Hmmm... I just popped in the first disc and am getting this error:

The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

Do I need to update something or make some other adjustment?

Episode one? I'm working backwards. I'll update when I get there.

If you're getting a volume key error, send the dump that's generated to svq at makemkv.com so the title key can be added.

My set just shipped finally. I can't wait to get it!

Those are typical read errors, with the drive trying very hard to read a marginal sector. Try cleaning the disk. Yes, even though it is brand new.

Funny, so far I've just gotten this error for Phantom Menace. Episodes 2 and 3 seem to be fine. Maybe it's just an issue with the dump for the first disc?

Are you also getting this error?
Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
If you have disabled contacting the web server for updates, or your have software preventing contacting it, you can't get the latest key file.

Sometimes it's as simple as making sure your using a DNS server that doesn't block portions of the internet. Read the start and end of the "sticky" topic about this error message.

Just finished 1-7, 9, and Rogue One. If a disc won't decrypt, submit dump.

Looks like I found the culprit.
I am using a Unifi USG router. I have some Geo blocking in place. The Russian Federation was blocked. the keys pulled by Make MKV are coming from an IP located in Russia. I removed the block on Russia and restarted and now my rips are working.

Hope this helps some

What did you just finish? Actually ripping them or creating keys?

My 1 and 3 won't decrypt, 2 did though.

I've successfully ripped episodes/discs 2 - 9, but am still getting the "unknown volume key" / "failed to open disc" error for ep. #1 - Phantom Menace. Anyone else having trouble with that disc?

I'd gladly submit a dump, but have no idea how to do that. Can anyone provide a step-by-step for the Mac version? Thx.

Thats strange, mine kept failing for 3. Is there something I can try to see if were getting different sets of keys maybe?

I'm seeing the same issue with disc 1; I've submitted an AACS dump for it.

For future reference, if you look at the makemkv log down in the bottom of the window, you should see a line like "Saved AACS dump file as /home/esm/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v72_Star_Wars-_The_Phantom_Menace_3BF4.tgz". You'll want to email svq at makemkv.com with the file attached.

Thanks for the feedback. If you get a good response to your dump file submission, please let us know what you learn. In the meantime, I'll work on capturing and submitting one as well.
