Re: AACS 2.1 support

@mike admin, I mentioned this already in various unrelated other posts. The mkv file format doesn't cover all features anymore that are available on UHD discs today. Especially DolbyVison and HDR. Therefore I use makemkv only to decrypt UHDs and copy to folder w/o converting to mkv. My opinion is t...

Re: Samsung SE 506 info

In the changlog, I see: MakeMKV v1.14.4 (6.6.2019 ) Added support for AACS v70 (for those poor souls without LibreDrive) but for the latest versions, I see no such notation, so it's possible that AACS v72 remains unsupported for "those poor souls without LibreDrive"?: MakeMKV v1.14.7 (4.12.2019 ) Bu...

Re: No streaming icon on MakeMKV

I am using the latest MakeMkv version (v.1.14.7) both windows and linux version . It is registered version. Streaming icon is nowhere to be found. What to do? It was removed (quite) a while back. From MakeMKV revision history: MakeMKV v1.14.0 (5.11.2018 ) ... Obsolete features: Removed UPNP streami...

Re: Jurassic Park 4K - Volume Key s unknown.

First time creating a dump file but it's 576mb's and not too sure what do with it. Refer to section "How do I discover the key for a disc I have?" https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16883 If the dump is too large to email directly, upload to some free cloud file-sharing service (i.e...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

If there is an unsupported disc using AACS2.1 Load disc Start Makemkv (close AnyDVD before, if active?) Don't do anything further with Makemkv At this point, the disc must have been scanned by Makemkv & the drive put in 'LibreDrive' mode in order to successfully perform a RAW read of the encrypted ...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

Mike, you are right. I still don't get why SamuriHL thinks I'm wrong. Thinking about it I think that I just assumed that the drive is UHD friendly / supported by Libre Drive. Maybe that's his point. That method is wrong. Just loading makemkv and doing nothing will in fact do nothing. The disc has t...

So, do I have to worry about the resulting mkv files? (I mean, I have played them and they seem fine. However, I am afraid that there could be any freezes or glitches, at some point.)
Probably not.

Re: Do I have to worry about this message?

No, it means that the drive is capable, but not yet enabled in LibreDrive mode. So you don't get a LibreDrive experience, but your drive works as it should (until the next AACS revocation happens ). Aside from the above, you have 2 identical drives... one LD-enabled, one not... have YOU noticed any...

Re: Identifying the first chapter of an episode

Any player which allows you to 'jump to...' a specific chapter would allow you to quickly determine which (probably sequential?) chapters make up each episode. My example assumes sequential chapter groups. YMMV

Re: Identifying the first chapter of an episode

I'd recommend 'mkvtoolnix' for this task... unless your intent was to re-encode w/ Handbrake anyway. - Drag the .mkv file produced by MakeMKV into the UI. - On the 'Output' tab, under 'Splitting': -- select 'Before chapters' for 'Split mode' -- enter 'all' in the 'Chapter numbers' field. - Select 'S...

Re: hkdata.fairuse.org

It also has to do with domains like 'freeuse.org' which may have been used by less trustworthy entities (for updates, etc.) in the past. One bad apple... & they are all lumped in under the root domain. It's flagging the domain, not the file. Also, the latest version of MBAM (v4.x) has just rolled ou...
