Title length changes when DVD opened manually

I have two discs that when I open them, the second title drops the first couple minutes. When I open these same discs manually, the title is complete. Is there any reason why this is happening? I just happened to catch this, it may have happened on other discs too.

Here is the open manually list of titles. Notice that Title 2 has 18 chapters, 18 cells, and a duration of 1:21:17.

Here is the Title information for the same title when I open the disc normally. The title now has 17 chapters and a duration of 1:19:12.

The normal logical view based von the IFO data shows Segment Map 2-18, the manual mode selects all 18 segments (chapters). So the first segment is not included. Rip both (or only the first segment) und you see what is in front of the movie in manual mode.

The first segment is actually the first 2 minutes of the movie. Track 1 is a full screen version, and track 2 is widescreen. I probably wouldn't have realized it until I went to watch it, but I couldn't figure out why they were different lengths, so I tested them.
