Rush - Moving Pictures

Post by durian »

Makemkv fails with the Rush - Moving Pictures blu ray disc. After it scans the m2ts tracks, but before it gives you a list of titles, it crashes with an internal error.

1.6.11 does not fix this problem. MakeMKV still crashes after reading the tracks.

I just tried with 1.6.14. It still crashes. Probably because it's an audio disc, with no video. So I mounted the disc. Here's a directory listing in case that helps.

@durian

Hi!

Try the following:

1) Make an ENCRYPTED FULL DISC copy

2) Make an .MKV from the FULL DISC copy

I'll give this a try tomorrow. Did you get access to the core file too? Was there something in there to indicate parsing a copy would succeed?

I don't think this is unexpected, but running MakeMKV on an encrypted copy of the disc crashes too.

Having the same issue here. AnyDVD can rip the disc without error, but then when trying to read the decrypted disk iso with MakeMKV I get:

The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

Hi all.

I've just been getting into BD-Audio with a Samsung USB Bluray drive attached to my Mac Mini. However, I just got the Moving Pictures disk and am hitting the error that it failed creating the output file. It works for the first title, which is just a short animation, and the 3rd title, which has a couple of videos. However, the main, 2nd title fails.

Is this the same error you were seeing almost 2 years ago? Was there never a fix or response from the makemkv developers for this after such a long time?

Help!?!?!

David

Yes, because there was no follow up. Please, please, please - do submit a test dump for the title that fails per instructions at /onlinehelp/testdump.html

Actually, I found a better way for audio-only files. I used makemkv to make an unencrypted backup of the disk. Then I used DVD Audio Extractor to pull out the audio. Works great.
